Kazakhstan continues flour exports at a rapid pace


Kazakhstan supplied 221 KMT of flour to foreign markets in December 2016, or 5% less than in December 2015 but nevertheless one of the largest export volumes for this time of season, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Kazakh flour exports for the four months of2016/17 were up 23.3% year-on-year at941 KMT against 763.3 KMT in September-December 2015. 

Afghanistan remains the top importer of Kazakh flour. In the period under review the country purchased over 650 KMTof flour from Kazakhstan, or almost twice as much as imported at the same time last season (roughly 365 KMT in September-December2015/16).

Flour exports from Kazakhstan to China also continue at a faster pace. Simultaneously, a decrease was seen in deliveries to traditional destination markets of Kazakh flour such as Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
