Kazakhstan exported almost 42% more of sunseed than last year


Kazakhstan continues setting new records in the sunseed export market in the current 2016/17 season. So, June’s exports of sunseed hit an all-time high for this month. They totaled 21.8 KMT, or 0.9% more than supplied last year (21.6 KMT) and 1.5 times as much as in June 2016 (14.3 KMT).

Kazakhstan exported 219.1 KMT of sunseed in the above months of the season (September-June 2016/17), or almost 42% more than at the same time last marketing year (154.4 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

The geographical range of Kazakh sunseed export destinations gradually expands this season. Traditionally, 90% of the entire foreign trade is on account of Uzbekistan and China, and these countries already imported more sunseed in the ten months of 2016/17 than for the whole last season. Iran, having resumed sunseed purchases from Kazakhstan this season, seized a 4% export share and the third position in the ranking of importing countries.
