Kazakhstan. Favorable conditions for development of spring cereals in the country

The July 11-20 weather conditions were favorable for full maturity and harvesting of grains in the south and south-east of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Also, these conditions favored growth and development of spring cereals in the northern half of the country. Precipitation occurrences somewhat improved air and soil moisture supply.

In Akmola, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Karaganda and East Kazakhstan regions, the state of spring cereals is primarily good. Their plant height is reaches 30-84 cm, while late-sown crops are 20-31 cm high. They are at the stages from lower stem node emergence to flowering, even from stalking to milky ripeness in some areas.

In Pavlodar region, the average plant height of spring cereals varies from 20 to 50 cm. The state of grain crops is mostly fair, locally good. Their stages range from lower stem node emergence to milky ripeness, even stalking in late-sown crops.

In West Kazakhstan region, spring cereals are in good condition everywhere. Spring wheat is at the stages of milky to full ripeness. Its plant height reaches 38-71 cm. Spring barley is at waxy ripeness; its condition is good.

In Aktobe region, the condition of spring wheat is primarily good, locally fair. Its development stages range from heading to milky ripeness. The wheat plant height averages 42 to 67 cm. Spring barley is at the stages of heading / waxy ripeness, while late-sown crops are at lower stem node emergence. Barley condition is mainly good. The height of barley plants reaches 37-59 cm.

In Almaty region, spring wheat is in good condition. Its development stages range from heading to waxy ripeness, while late-sown crops are at stalking. The plant height reaches 24-76 cm.

Farmers in Zhambyl and South Kazakhstan regions have started barley harvesting everywhere.
