Kazakhstan. Flour exports gained 4%

Kazakhstan exported 162 KMT of flour in May 2018. This is 18% more than in the previous month (137.5 KMT) but 2% less than in May 2017 (165 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult. In total, Kazakh flour exports in MY 2017/18 (September-May) were up 4% year-on-year at 1.8 MMT.

 

The biggest importers of flour from Kazakhstan are its neighbors Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. Overall, these countries absorbed a combined 95% of Kazakh flour exports in the period under review, or 4% more than at the same time a year ago.

 

According to the Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan, growers of all types held 4.38 MMT of cereals and pulses as of August 1, 2018, i.e. 4.6% more than on the same date a year ago (4.18 MMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Wheat inventories as of August 1, 2018 were up 5% year-on-year at 3.86 MMT, including 3.52 MMT of milling wheat, 0.28 MMT of feed wheat and 69.9 KMT of wheat for seed.

 

As of the reporting date, barley stocks totaled 237.5 KMT that is down 2.1% on the year, while those of corn were 23.1 KMT, rice – 26.5 KMT, rye – 10.5 KMT, oats – 53.9 KMT, buckwheat – 41.6 KMT, millet – 1.9 KMT.

To reminder, the grain harvest in Kazakhstan is under way in four southern regions: Almaty, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda and Turkestan, and also in East Kazakhstan and West Kazakhstan regions.
