Kazakhstan. Grain stocks are higher than last year


According to the Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan, growers of all types held 10.6 MMT of cereals and pulses as of April 1, 2018, i.e. 3% more than on the same date a year ago (10.3 MMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Wheat inventories as of April 1, 2018 were up 2% year-on-year at 8.8 MMT, including 6.8 MMT of milling wheat, 0.59 MMT of feed wheat and 1.33 MMT of wheat for seed.

As of the reporting date, barley stocks totaled 1 MMT that is up 1% on the year, while those of corn were 75.8 KMT, rice – 180.6 KMT, rye – 26.3 KMT, oats – 198.5 KMT, buckwheat – 111.3 KMT, millet – 11 KMT.

UkrAgroConsult notes that about 2.8 MMT of Kazakh wheat shipped abroad in the first half of MY 2017/18 (September – February). This is 34% more than at the same time last season. February 2018 shipments were 12% more than January 2018 and 135% more than February 2017.
