Kazakhstan increased flour exports by 6%


Kazakhstan supplied 178.5 KMT of flour to foreign markets in August 2017, or 27% more than at the same time last year. Kazakhstan exported 2285.8 KMT of flour in the 2016/17 season, or 6% more than a year ago (2157 KMT was in MY 2015/16), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Afghanistan expanded its share in Kazakh flour exports this season. This market absorbed 69% of total shipments in the period under review against 54% in MY 2015/16.

Some rise was also registered in Kazakh flour supplies to China. Kazakhstan exported 10.7 KMT of flour to this market in MY 2016/17.

Export deliveries to other key end markets decreased. Those to Uzbekistan fell by 26%, supplies to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were down 38% and almost 8% year-on-year.
