Kazakhstan. Linseed export market started the new 2017/18 season with a record

Kazakhstan exported a total 27.6 KMT of linseed in October 2017 that was up 39% from the previous month (19.8 KMT) and up 7.4% from October 2016. Overall, linseed exports reached 47.4 KMT in the first two months of MY 2017/18. This is a record high for this time of year and up more than 36% from September-October 2016, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The rise in export shipments was a natural result of the diversification of planted areas, when oil lax plantings for the 2017 harvest were expanded by 28%.

In the current 2017/18 season, Kazakh linseed was shipped to its traditional importers, with an increase in purchases by the largest of them. So, shipments to EU countries gained more than 43.2% (55% of total exports) and those to Afghanistan grew by 46.3% (33% of total exports).
