Kazakhstan. November’s grain exports reached the largest volume since 2012


Kazakhstan shipped abroad over 1.1 MMT of grain and flour in grain equivalent in November 2017. This is 12.6% more than in November 2016 and the largest monthly export volume since May 2012 (1.38 MMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

As a reminder, it is the 2011/12 season that witnessed record exports of Kazakh grains and processed products (12.36 MMT). 

Traditionally, the bulk of grain exports in November 2017 was represented by wheat, which accounted for 47% of total grain shipments (519.4 KMT). Barley represented 12.6% and flour in grain equivalent amounted to 38.4%.

Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Iran remain the top end markets for Kazakh grain and flour in MY 2017/18.
