Kazakhstan. Precipitation slowed down completion of field work

Favorable conditions for flowering and grain ripening in winter wheat were seen in the south and south-east of Kazakhstan from June 1-10. Recent showers somewhat replenished soil moisture content. The development stages of wheat vary from heading to milky ripeness, even waxy ripeness in South Kazakhstan region. Plant condition is good everywhere, emerging weeds are spotted.

All grain growers in the north of the country were completing sowing of spring cereals from June 1-10. Moderately warm weather with showers was observed all over Kazakhstan at the time, though abundant downpours occurred in some northern, central and eastern areas. These meteorological conditions hampered timely completion of field work in the north and center of the country, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In the northern, central and eastern regions of Kazakhstan, early-sown plantings of spring cereals are at germination to tillering.

Spring wheat in Almaty region is at the stages of emergence – shooting, while spring barley is at emergence to heading there, even milky ripeness in some areas. In Zhambyl and South Kazakhstan regions, the current development stages of spring barley range from shooting to milky ripeness.
