Kazakhstan. Quality of 2017-crop grain better than last year


According to the Ag Ministry of Kazakhstan, the 2017 crop share of 3rd grade wheat equals 65% against 44% last year. Wheat with 25%+ gluten content represents 34% of the crop against 8% in 2016, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The grain harvest is over all across the country, except for Almaty region (98%). The Kazakh Ag Ministry reports that cereals and pulses were harvested from 15.3 Ml ha in the country by October 23 (99.9% of the planned 15.311 Ml ha). Their crop totaled 21.95 MMT with an average yield of 1.43 MT/ha.

Kazakh farmers harvested grains from 14.16 Ml ha (92.6%) at the same time last year. Their crop amounted to 21.46 MMT with an average yield of 1.52 MT/ha.
