Kazakhstan stepped up sunseed exports by 15% this season


The current season 2016/17 is becoming successful for the Black Sea countries in the sunseed market. Similarly to Russia and Ukraine, Kazakhstan expands sunseed exports this season although it is not a key grower of the oilseed, reports UkrAgroConsult.

So, a record 30.1 KMT of sunseed was supplied to foreign markets in November 2016 that is up more than three times from October 2016 (9 KMT) and up almost 10% from November 2015 (27.5 KMT). In turn, export statistics of the first three months of the season 2016/17, as expected, features the largest volume for this period: 43.8 KMT. This is up more than 15% year-on-year.

The key importers of Kazakh sunseed remain the same. At the same time, Uzbekistan somewhat reduced sunseed purchases against the previous season (21.3 KMT against 23 KMT), although still retaining its top position among the buyers (49% of total exports). China and Tajikistan, on the contrary, boosted imports to 20 KMT (45%) and 1.4 KMT (3%), respectively.
