Kazakhstan stepping up grain exports and reducing flour ones

According to the Kazakhstan Railways Company, the country exported 1080.2 KMT of grain in the first two months of MY 2017/18 (September-October), or 3% more than a year ago (1048.1 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

At the same time, flour exports totaled 339.7 KMT, or 12% less than last season (386.8 KMT was in September-October 2016/17).

Flour shipments to foreign markets surged in November. According to the Kazakhstan Railways Company, the country exported 195.5 KMT of flour on November 1-22 (up 4.5% from October). Grain exports totaled 495.6 KMT at the time.

As a reminder, UkrAgroConsult forecasts Kazakhstan’s wheat and flour export potential to decrease 5-7% in the 2017/18 season.
