Kazakhstan. Sunoil production recovering this year


Kazakh crushers produced 29 KMT of unrefined sunoil in Q1 2017 that is up 1.1% year-on-year. At the same time, output of refined sunoil decreased 3.2% to 29.6 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The main sunseed growing and crushing region in the country is East Kazakhstan region, which accounts for some 83% of total production of unrefined sunoil and for over 52% of refined sunoil. The bulk of feedstock for crushing is grown within the region, which hosted 47.2% of the country’s sunflower plantings and accounted for 55.8% of its total sunseed output in net weight in 2016.

As a reminder, production of sunoil and its factions increased 9% in 2016.
