04.01.2017

Wheat exports from Kazakhstan continued growing in November 2016, reports UkrAgroConsult. So, Kazakh wheat exports totaled 415.3 KMT in the third month of the season, up 25% from November 2015.

In Q1 2016/17 (September-November), Kazakhstan exported 33.5% more wheat than at the same time last season: 1223.2 KMT and 915.9 KMT, respectively.

The most active exports of Kazakh wheat continue to its traditional outlet markets: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

However, other important destinations also see growth. So, 26% more wheat was supplied to China in the period under review. Italy keeps boosting purchases of Kazakh wheat – it bought roughly 60 KMT of wheat in 2016/17 or four times more than at the same time last season.

Turkey, on the contrary, reduced wheat imports from Kazakhstan by 45% to 13.2 KMT in Q1 2016/17.

As a reminder, this year’s Kazakh wheat harvest of 16.5 MMT was the richest since 2011 (up 20% from last year). UkrAgroConsult forecasts wheat export potential to increase on average 30-35% in 2016/17 against last season.
