Kazakhstan’s grain crop up more than 15% y-o-y in net weight


Kazakhstan’s total crop of grain after conditioning reached 21.5 MMT, said agriculture vice-minister Gulmira Isayeva. In addition, she said, the nation is going to export 9 MMT of grain.

With regard to the outlet markets, according to her, they are the traditional ones: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Rusia, Iran and China, reports UkrAgroConsult.

“Together with the Kazakh Railways we are working for shipping the first parcel of our grain (700 MT) to Vietnam,” she added.

As a reminder, Kazakh farmers harvested 23.68 MMT of grains and pulses in 2016.

As UkrAgroConsult foresaw back in the end of September, Kazakhstan’s grain crop in net weight amounted to 21.5 MMT. According to UkrAgroConsult’s estimates, this includes 16.5 MMT of wheat and roughly 3 MMT of barley.
