Kernel to become the largest land user in Ukraine


Kernel Group is finalizing the purchase of the Ukrainian Agrarian Investments holding company, the media reported. To close the deal, the agri holding is waiting for permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, reports UkrAgroConsult.

As a reminder, the Committee previously permitted Kernel to acquire stakes in the authorized capitals of ten Ukrainian agricultural companies owned by Renaisco B.V, a subsidiary of Glencore International.

According to available information, the land bank of Glencore totals 70 Th ha, while that of Ukrainian Agrarian Investments is over 240 Th ha. After closing the assets purchase deal, Kernel may become Ukraine’s largest land user with a land bank of some 700 Th ha.
