Key importer of Ukrainian sunoil ready to further step up its purchases


India is interested in increasing sunoil imports from Ukraine. This was discussed at a meeting of phytosanitary and food safety chiefs of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection with representatives of India’s Oilseed Exporter Association, the press service of the Consumer Protection Service reported on August 3.

“Representatives of ten leading companies of India took part in the event. They pointed out the high quality of Ukrainian foods. The parties discussed the processes of state quality and safety control of foods in Ukraine and peculiarities of export to India. Also, they expressed interest in expanding exports to India,” reads the report.

As a reminder, India is the top importer of Ukrainian sunoil and steadily increases its purchases. So, sunoil exports from Ukraine to India in the ten months of the current 2016/17 season (1.7 MMT) are already 21.4% more than exported for the whole last season (1.4 MMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.
