Lamb production in Russia grew by 6.2% per year


In November 2016, Russia produced 513,34 tons of mutton (including 489,57 tons of steam and chilled lamb and of 23.77 tons frozen)

This is 4.6% less than in the previous month, and 6.2% more than in November 2015, follows from the statistics EMISS.

For 11 months of 2016, compared to the same period in 2015, lamb production in the country grew by 8.7%.

For the period from January 2014 the maximum volume of the mutton production recorded in November 2014 – 800,60 tons; the minimum is in January 2016: 369,56 tons.

Most of the Russian mutton, according to EMISS, produced in the North Caucasus (57%) and Central (24%) Federal districts
