Limitless supply? Next season corn acres would rise 6% Argentina

Corn planting in Argentina in the next season would reach 13.3 million acres (5.4 million hectares), according to a new estimate of the Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange. This would be a six percent increase of surface, mostly pushed by Southern and Northern parts of the country, and the largest planted area with the cereal in 17 years.

The reasons behind the increase are more crop rotation practices and good hydric reserves after the government decided to eliminate exports taxes on corn and wheat. In the province of Córdoba, due to hydric excess, peanuts would be replaced by corn.
