Malaysian palm oil dominates in Ukrainian palm oil imports

In August Ukraine imported 16 KMT of palm oil against 12.3 KMT in July 2016 and 12.8 KMT in August 2015, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Total volume imported in 2015/16 (September-August) was 24% higher than over the last season. Thus, total imports equaled 181.2 KMT against 145.7 KMT in 2015/16.

Malaysia and Indonesia traditionally remained the main suppliers of palm oil in 2015/16, though their shares in Ukrainian palm oil imports have changed dramatically over the last decade. In 2006/07 shipments from Indonesia equaled more than 80% and from Malaysia – 12.5%, but in 2015/16 Malaysian share grew to 62% (112 KMT), and Indonesian – lowered to 30% (55 KMT).
