Mexico's raw sugar output down 2.52% on week

Mexico's raw sugar production for the week ended February 25 totaled 260,125 mt, a 2.52% decrease from 266,839 mt produced during the week ended February 18, according to data from Mexico's agricultural ministry.

Raw sugar production for the 2016-17 season has so far reached 2.920 million mt, a 1.83% increase from 2.868 million mt produced during the same period in 2015-16.

Sugar yields closed the week ended February 25 at 11.72%, up slightly from 11.52% in the previous week.

Mexico's refined sugar production reached 83,193 mt during the week ended February 25, a 4% increase from 79,959 mt produced during the week prior. Refined sugar production for the season reached 752,642 mt, a 9.72% decrease year on year.
