Moldova. Agrometeorological conditions and crops development


During July 11-17 hot weather without precipitation was observed across the territory of the republic. Average weekly air temperature was above the norm by 2.5-3.8ºC and reached 23.3 .. + 25.2ºC.

Hot and dry weather, observed during the week, caused to intensive evaporation of moisture from the soil and created poor conditions for crops growth and development. During the week harvesting of winter crops continued. Conditions for harvesting works were mostly favorable.

Corn was seen mostly at the stage of head flowering. Flowering and growth of the basket continued at plants of sunflower.
