Moldova. Corn crop gained 27%


According to the National Statistics Bureau of the Republic of Moldova, agricultural production in the country increased 8.6% in 2017 against 2016, reports UkrAgroConsult.

This gain resulted from a 13.1% rise in crop production, while a 2.1% decline was registered in the livestock sector.

So, Moldovan farmers harvested 3.342 MMT of cereals and pulses in 2017 (+14.1%), including 1.249 MMT of wheat (-3.4%) and 1.762 MMT of corn (+27%). In addition, they produced 800 KMT of sunseed (+18.1%) and 831 KMT of sugar beet (+24.9%).
