Moldova. Low level of productive moisture created unfavorable conditions for winter crops sowing


During September, 5-11 hot weather without precipitations was observed across the territory of the republic. Average air temperature during the week reached +22 .. + 24.4ºC, which was higher than the norm by 5.5-6.5ºC. Maximum air temperature rose to + 34ºC, which is observed in average once in 10 years.

Dry and hot weather remained during the week and contributed to further drying of the upper soil layer. Very low stocks of productive moisture in the upper soil layer observed in the most territory of Moldova and created unfavorable conditions for soil preparation and winter crops sowing.

Farms of republic continued to harvest sunflower and corn.
