Moldova. Sunflower plants continued developing next leaves

Warmer-than-usual weather was observed in the country. The average weekly air temperature was at +19.5..+21 ºС, or 1-2.5ºС above normal. The highest air temperature was registered at +32ºС.

Precipitation occurred in 70% of the country over the week. Its rates totaled primarily 3-18 mm (15-70% of the weekly norm), up to 19-47 mm in the south (100-310% of normal).

Throughout the week, the weather was mostly favorable for crop growth and development. At the time, winter crops were at the stage of flowering and milky ripening, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Corn plants continued to develop leaves, forming 5-11 leaves. Soil moisture stocks in the corn fields equaled 75-125% of the norm in the 0-50 cm layer.

Sunflower plants continued developing next leaves, even inflorescences emerged in some fields. Soil moisture stocks equaled 70-170% of the norm in 0-50 cm layer.
