Moldova. The state of winter crops is satisfactory


Abnormally warm weather dominated the country. The average weekly air temperature was at +5.5..+7.5ºC, or 5-8ºC above normal. Air temperatures peaked at +17ºC in Moldova.

No precipitation occurred in most of the country during the week, though some areas received at most 1-2 mm (10-30% of the normal weekly rate).

Growth of winter crops started early in the week due to above-normal temperatures (three weeks ahead of usual time), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Winter crops were at the emergence stage in most of Moldova, though their three-leaf and tillering stages were seen in some areas. The state of winter crops is satisfactory.
