Moldova. The weather conditions were primarily fair for crop growth and development

On July 3-9, 2017, the country was exposed to normal air temperatures, but most of its territory was short of precipitation. The average weekly air temperature was at +19..+21ºС, i.e. close to normal.

Air temperatures peaked at +30ºС. Precipitation rates in 70% of the country totaled 1-13 mm (5-65% of normal), while the rest of Moldova, mostly the south, got 15-30 mm (90-210% normal), locally 40-50 mm (300-360% of normal).

The weather conditions throughout the week were primarily fair for crop growth and development, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Winter crops were in waxy and full ripeness, their harvest has begun in some areas. Corn crops mostly continued the leaf formation process – they already had 13-19 leaves per plant ahead of the weekend, even the tasseling stage started in some fields. Sunflower was at flowering in most of Moldova, though the emergence of inflorescences continued in some areas.
