Moldova. Weather conditions and crops development


During July 04-10 usual for this period weather with precipitation deficit was observed. The average weekly air temperature was close to the norm and reached 18.7 .. + 20.9ºC. Maximum air temperature increased to + 29.7ºC across the territory of the republic, the minimum air temperature lowered to + 9.3ºC.

Precipitation amount did not exceed 1-10 mm last week (10-55% of the norm).

Weather conditions were generally favorable for agri crops growth and development. Winter crops were at full ripeness stage. Active harvesting has begun in Moldova. Weather conditions were mostly favorable for harvesting. Soil moisture reserves of corn fields reached 75-150% of the norm in 50 cm soil layer, in 1m soil layer- 75-145%.

Sunflower was at flowering stage in most regions. Productive moisture reserves in 50 cm soil layer under sunflower reached 80-155% of the norm, in 1m soil layer- 80-120%.
