Moldova. Weather was satisfactory for planting of early crops


Warmer than usual weather with precipitation was observed in the country. The average weekly air temperature in the country was 3.5-4.2ºC above normal, at +7.5..+9ºC. Maximum air temperature was registered at +23ºC.

Precipitation occurred unevenly over Moldova during the week. Its rates totaled primarily 4-8 mm (85-110% of normal) in 70% of the country at the time, up to 10-14 mm (150–230% of normal) in some areas. The rest of Moldova received at most 1-3 mm (20-45% of normal) over the week.

The week’s weather was chiefly satisfactory for growth of winter crops and planting of early spring crops, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In most of Moldova, winter crops were at the tillering stage, though the three-leaf stage was reported in some areas.
