New-crop grain quality in Russia preliminarily assessed


Federal State-Funded Institution “Federal Center of Quality and Safety Assurance for Grain and Grain Products” reports preliminary quality assessment of grain from the new 2018 crop as of August 132018.  

Countrywide, the breakdown of the total volume of surveyed wheat grain by class looks as follows:

  • 2nd class wheat – 0.03%;
  • 3rd class wheat – 19.9%
  • 4th class wheat – 47.7%;
  • 5th class wheat – 29.2%.

The share of 1st-4th class wheat in the total volume of surveyed wheat grain by Russian region is as follows:

  • Southern federal district – 74.5%;
  • North-Caucasian federal district – 79.1%;
  • Central federal district – 44.8%;
  • Volga federal district – 61.9%/
