Nibulon planning to increase freight traffic by the Southern Buh River to 2 MMT a year

Since the beginning of the 2016 navigation season, Nibulon’s vessels have made more than 150 voyages along this river and transported 300 KMT of grains and oilseeds, the company’s press service reports.

The above-mentioned amount of agricultural commodities was shipped from the company’s terminals located in Novoodesky and Voznesensky districts of Mykolaiv region. According to calculations made by Nibulon, they have transported by the river an equivalent of more than 11,000 truck-loads.

The company’s plans envisage increasing the Southern Buh freight traffic to 2 MMT a year (1 MMT of grains and 1 MMT of construction materials), informs UkrAgroConsult.

Nibulon specialists estimate that shipping 1 MMT of grain by the Southern Buh River could reduce the number of trucks on the roads by 42,000. In addition, river shipments allow saving more than 2.5 KMT of fuel compared to truck hauling.
