Oilseed planting in Ukraine drawing to an end


According to Ukraine’s Ag Ministry, spring planting is over in the country. So, farmers planted sunflower on 5581 Th ha by June 13 that is 104% of the planned area of 5390 Th ha (official data). 5484 Th ha of sunflower was sown at the same time a year earlier, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Soya was planted on 1880 Th ha by June 13 that is 96% of the officially forecast 1948 Th ha. At the same time, this year’s planting progresses 1.3% ahead of 2016, when growers sowed 1855 Th ha of soya.
