Oilseed plantings in Kazakhstan may double


According to farmer requests, they are going to sow roughly 3 Ml ha of crops, including 1.1 Ml ha of prioritized crops. Under the Kazakh Ag Ministry’s plan, sowings of prioritized crops must total at least 597.4 Th ha. In other words, if all the current requests are approved, the plan may be exceeded almost twofold, informs UkrAgroConsult.

The farmer requests currently envisage sowing some 670 Th ha of oilseed crops and 372.5 Th ha of barley. Plantings of other non-prioritized crops (wheat, vegetables, melon crops, pulses, annual and perennial grasses, buckwheat, millet and others) are projected at 1.87 Ml ha.
