Over half sunseed already harvested in Ukraine: the results are not delightful


The harvesting of oilseeds is going on in Ukraine. As of September 26, sunseed was harvested from 3079.6 Th ha (52% of the planned 5937.9 Th ha) with a crop of 5677.2 KMT and a yield of 1.84 MT/ha. The pace of harvest quickened last week and the gap behind last year closed by 2.6%; the yield is 14% lower than a year ago, reports UkrAgroConsult.

As of September 26, soybeans were harvested from 655.8 Th ha (down 20% year-on-year) out of the planned 1991.6 Th ha. Farmers got a crop of 1119.4 KMT (down 36% year-on-year) with a yield of 1.71 MT/ha (down 19% year-on-year).

In addition, the planting of winter rape is drawing to an end. It was sown on 787.3 Th ha by September 26 that is 1% more than the projected 776.7 Th ha. The field work progress is 15% ahead of last year. So, winter rape was planted on 683 Th ha a year ago.
