Philippines to buy more US poultry products in Q4


The Philippines is expected to import more than 90,000 tonnes of poultry products from the US following the surge in demand for the holiday season. The US Poultry and Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) said exports to the Philippines would reach 90,945 tonnes in the last quarter of 2017.

USAPEEC also sees this year’s shipments surpassing 2016 exports of 90,495 tonnes.   Data from the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Economic Research Service showed that US broiler meat exports to the Philippines in January to July reached 62,071mt, 23.53% higher than last year’s 50,247mt.
