PM Groysman: Ukraine could sign free trade agreement with Turkey in 2018

16.04.2018

Ukraine plans in 2018 to sign a free trade agreement with Turkey, following the EU, Canada and Israel.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this on the air of a Ukrainian TV channel, the Government portal reports.

"We want to sign a free trade agreement with Turkey this year. This will positively influence the economy and, primarily, the quality of life of Ukrainians," Groysman said.

March 28, the Ukrainian Prime Minister announced that Ukraine and Israel had reached the final stage of signing the agreement on a free trade area.

The Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement entered into force in 2017. Since then, the bilateral commodity turnover between Ukraine and Canada has increased by 60%.
