Pork production in Russia grew by 5.6%


From January to April, the production of pigs for slaughter in live weight made up 1.15 million tons

After 4 months of this year, production of pigs for slaughter in live weight in agricultural organizations increased by 5.6% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 1.15 million tons.

According to Rosstat, in April the average price of agricultural producers of pigs in Russia amounted to 98.6 RUB/kg.

The main increase in pork production has provided farmers in Pskov, Belgorod, Voronezh, Chelyabinsk, Tver oblasts and Stavropol Krai.

"A slight decline in production recorded in Tomsk, Penza, Vladimir, and Volgograd regions and Krasnodar Krai", — said the Director of the Department of animal husbandry and breeding Ministry of agriculture of Kharon Amerkhanov.
