Private exporters reported Friday the sale of 128,000 mt of US corn in one day for delivery to Japan during the 2016-17 marketing year (September-August), the US Department of Agriculture said Monday.

Japan is the second-largest US corn buyer for the current marketing year, purchasing 4.346 million mt, according the USDA.

Exporters are required to report any US export sales of 100,000 mt or more of a single agricultural commodity, made in one day, to the USDA.
