Projection update: Argentina could harvest 36 million metric tons of corn

A new projection from the Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange puts the total corn production in Argentina at 36 million metric tons through a surface of 12.1 million acres.

One of the reasons for the strong increase is that the government has eliminated completely export taxes on corn and reverted the decision to cut taxes on soybeans again with five more percetange points next year. Last year, the total production of the grain in Argentina was 30 million metric tons, while the soybean output was 56 million tons – and may fall to 53 million tons in 2016.
