Romania. Cooler air temperature regime is expected

High air temperatures were registered in the central and eastern regions of the country (2-4°С above the long-term average). At the same time, in the western regions, bordering on Hungary, the average temperature was 1-2°С below normal.

Daytime air temperature stayed within +16..+25°С throughout last week. It reached +33°С in the eastern regions, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Precipitation occurred everywhere except for the south-east (the Danube Delta). Its rates exceeded monthly normal in the north and caused waterlogging of fields there. Soil moisture oversupply is reported in the north, north-west and locally in the west.

Soil drought is still observed on vast expanses in the east of the country, as well as in the south-west. Above-normal air temperatures lead to unfavorable conditions for sowing winter crops there.

Romanian farmers continue harvesting corn and planting winter rapeseed, barley and wheat. Average air temperatures are expected to sink during this week, therefore the growers will speed up the corn harvest pace.
