Romania exported two times less corn in 2015/16 season


In August 2016 Romania exported 91 KMT of corn (111 KMT in July 2016), which was 54% lower compared to record shipments in August 2015 (199 KMT), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Lebanon, Egypt, Libya and Syria were main buyers of Romanian corn in August 2016.

According to UkrAgroConsult data, total corn volume exported in 2015/16 (September-August) was 49.4% lower than record amount shipped in 2014/15 (3098.3 KMT against 6100 KMT).

Over the reporting period top buyers of Romanian corn decreased their purchases – Spain by 41%, Netherlands by 41%, Italy by 37% and Turkey – 67%. South Korea bought only 15 KMT against 600 KMT over 2014/15.
