Romania. Harvest of winter barley and rapeseed almost complete

Air temperatures in Romania were at multi-year normal levels last week (+17..+27°С). in the north, the average air temperature was 1-2°С below normal.

This week’s precipitation rates were within normal. However, they exceeded 50 mm in the northern east – this contributed to the replenishment of soil moisture. Rainfalls benefited spring crops.

At the moment, moisture supply in the one-meter soil layer is at optimal and satisfactory levels almost all over the country. Soil moisture oversupply is reported in the northern and central regions. Drought is observed locally in the Danube Delta.

According to the Ag Ministry of Romania, the harvest of winter barley and rapeseed in the country is drawing to an end, while that of wheat is still in progress. Corn has entered the stage of silking, locally even started flowering. Sunflower plants are at the stage of flowering, reports UkrAgroConsult.
