Romania. In 2016/17 barley exports were 43% lower than last season


In June 2017 Romania exported 230 KMT barley, which was second largest volume shipped during this month. This volume was sharply higher than 5-year average for June barley shipments (138 KMT). Record shipment was observed in June 2016 – 483 KMT.

Thus, in 2016/17 (July-June) Romania exported 1120 KMT of barley (-43% y/y) compared to 1990 KMT in 2015/16 MY, which was absolute record for Romania, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Over July-June 2016/17 lower purchasing activity is seen from Saudi Arabia (471.2 KMT against 873 KMT over the same period of 2015/16), Jordan (104.5 KMT against 277.7 KMT), Libya (103.5 KMT against 258.7 KMT),  Japan (7.6 KMT against 130.5 KMT).

Higher demand is observed from Spain 68 KMT (27.3 KMT over July - June 2015/16).
