Romania. Precipitation gradually easing soil drought


Elevated air temperatures (2-4°С) persisted in western Romania this past week. In the remainder of the country, the average air temperature was 4..2°С below its level registered over the previous many years. The average daytime air temperature dropped to -2..+9°С.

Precipitation in the form of rain and sleet (15-35 mm) occurred in the central, northern, southern regions.  Snow cover (10-15 cm) still remains in the northeast. These precipitation events are easing soil drought in the above-mentioned regions, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Winter grains are in the tillering stage. Winter rape is in the stage of leaf rosettes (7-11 leaves).
