Romania. Precipitation in the south helps to ease soil drought

This past week, air temperatures in Romania were above long-term normals (on average by 2..4°С). The average daytime air temperature varied within the range of -5..+9°С, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Precipitation in the form of snow and sleet occurred mostly in the northwest and south of the country, locally exceeding its normal monthly rates (25-65 mm over the week). In the south, precipitation fell mostly as rain (15-35 mm), helping to replenish soil moisture and ease soil drought.

Winter crops faced no risk of frost killing at the time.
