Romania. Rains continue to replenish soil moisture stocks

Last week air temperature got warmer all over the territory and fluctuated within +5..+15ºС with maximum reaching +19ºС and minimum lowering to 0 ºС.

Rains were observed across Romania. They were intense in the North-West reaching (35-50 mm) and lesser amounts were seen in the South. Excessive moistening of the upper soil layer was still observed in the North-East (Moldova region). Rains replenished soil moisture stocks to optimal and satisfactory levels almost all over the country, informs UkrAgroConsult.

5 – 10 cm soil layer warmed to +5..+16ºС, which was favorable for further development of winter crops.  Winter wheat and barley are at the stage of 3rd leave formation and beginning of tillering. Winter rapeseed continued to form leave rosette (3-7 leaves). Winter crops condition is mainly good and satisfactory.
