Romania. Record wheat crop allows decreasing wheat flour imports

Over July-August 2016/17 Romania imported 19.2 KMT of wheat flour, which was 27% lower than over the same period last season, reports UkrAgroConsult. Record wheat crop (+6% to the volume of 2015/16) allowed Romania to ease wheat flour imports at the start of the season. Current import pace is below the previous two seasons. In 2015/16 imports totaled record volume – 140 KMT.

Key suppliers over the reporting period were Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Moldova.

According to UkrAgroConsult data, Romania continued to import brans at the record high pace, purchasing 17.3 KMT in July-August 2016. This volume was 36% higher than over the same period last season (12.7 KMT). In 2015/16 imports totaled record volume at 76.5 KMT.

Key suppliers over the reporting period were Hungary, Bulgaria, Moldova, Slovakia, Serbia, and Ukraine.
