Romania shipped 2MMT of corn to foreign markets in September-December 2016/17

In December 2016 Romania exported 400 KMT of corn, which was lower than over the same month last year (420 KMT).

Thus, during September-December 2016/17 Romanian traders shipped 1971 KMT of corn, which exceeded the volumes over the same period last season by 21% despite the lower corn crop, reports UkrAgroConsult. Meanwhile, Romania increased imports of corn from neighboring countries, especially from Hungary.

Thus, Spain became the key importer of Romanian corn over September-December 2016/17. Also higher volumes were shipped to Egypt, Portugal, Vietnam, etc.
