Romania: weather conditions are unfavorable for planting of winter crops

Elevated air temperatures (2-4°С above long-term normal values) persisted across all the country this past week. The average air temperature varied within the range of +14..+26°С.

Rains continue falling in the northern regions and locally in the north-east (15-20 mm over the week). The absence of precipitation in other parts leads to further soil moisture evaporation. This situation is unfavorable for planting winter crops.

Farmers have completed rapeseed sowing, continue corn harvesting and sowing of winter wheat and barley, reports UkrAgroConsult.
