Romania. Winter crops were exposed to no risk of winterkill

It became warmer in Romania last week. Air temperature was on average 2..4°С above long-term normal. Its average daytime value varied within -7..+6°С.

Precipitation in the form of snow and sleet occurred mostly in the northwest of the country. In the south, where air temperature reached +8°С, snow cover melted and thereby eased soil drought, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Winter crops were exposed to no risk of winterkill in the period under review. According to weather forecasts, this week is expected to only witness a temperature drop in northern Romania (down to -8..-12°С), where snow cover is thick enough.
